Ken Brotherston – Executive Chairman

Ken Brotherston

Ken is responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the firm. He has many years of experience as both Chairman, CEO and NED within the executive search and human capital services sector. His experience includes managing public and private businesses through significant change including high growth and turnarounds as well as extensive international experience. He has also led a venture capital backed business through a successful sale process. He previously served on the Global operating committee of Korn/Ferry International and prior to joining the Directorbank Group was CEO of a global executive search firm. Ken is also Chairman of Mad Dog Casting, one of the UK's leading casting agencies providing supporting artists, walk-ons and stand-ins for the feature film, television and advertising industry and is a regular industry commentator in the press and broadcast media.


Peter Waine – Founding Director

Peter Waine

Peter has worked for manufacturing companies and professional firms, both as a Director and a NED. A former CBI Director, he acquired Hanson Green with Barry Dinan in 1989. He is co-author of both The Independent Board Director, the acknowledged management book on non-executive directors, and Takeover, the acclaimed business novel, and author of The Board Game. Previously, Peter was a visiting Professor at both the Warwick and Cass Business Schools. Currently, he is National Chairman at CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England).


Nick Aitchison - Director

Nick Aitchison

Nick joined Hanson Green in 2011. His recruitment experience includes seven years with Russell Reynolds Associates, where he was a Managing Director and conducted board-level searches across a wide range of sectors. He also spent five years as a Partner at Stork & May, the boardroom career advisors. Nick has served on a number of boards, as well as the committees of three British and European industry associations and has recently completed three years as Chairman of Leander Club, the world’s largest and most successful rowing club. Earlier, Nick gained extensive general management experience in consumer goods and manufacturing. His early career was spent with Mars, BAT and in management consultancy.

Graham Jones – Director

Graham Jones

Graham is a highly experienced executive search professional having co-founded a successful executive search firm following five years with Whitehead Mann where he headed the TMT Practice. Before entering the search industry, Graham was with IBM and prior to that a senior consulting partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Throughout his career he has consulted widely at Board level, particularly in the TMT, professional services and financial services sectors. In his earlier career he held senior finance and IT roles in the banking sector. Graham’s focus is to develop the firm’s presence with multinational clients as well as providing additional expertise to the Directorbank Group’s established private equity client base. A Mathematics graduate of Imperial College, Graham qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC.


Abdul F Bhanji – Director

Abdul Bhanji

Abdul has a strong track record in executive search having been one of the co-founders of a successful executive search practice and a non-executive director at Whitehead Mann. In his earlier career Abdul was a senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in charge of Business Development where he worked with a variety of high profile media and industrial clients. Abdul has a well connected network of senior contacts in the City and at major PLC’s and continues to act as a special advisor to a number of Chairs and CEOs of multinational organisations. He is currently Vice Chair of the University of London Board of Trustees and a Trustee of the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts. He is a former Chair of The Aga Khan Foundation UK National Committee Abdul’s focus at Hanson Green is to develop the firm’s presence with multinational clients and provide additional expertise to the Directorbank Group’s established private equity client base. An Accounting graduate of Kent University, Abdul qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC.


Daniela Anderson - International Director

Daniela Anderson

Daniela graduated from the University of St Andrews with a MA Hons in International Relations and has more than ten years of executive search experience on a global basis. Prior to joining the Directorbank Group she was involved in setting up a boutique search firm in Sydney, Australia. Daniela is responsible for heading up the firm’s International Practice and developing the brand overseas. She is a German/Italian National and speaks 5 languages.


Laura Middleditch - Personal Assistant

Laura Middleditch

Laura has over seven years experience in the recruitment industry. She started her career as a resourcer for a small boutique IT recruitment agency providing first line support and sourcing candidates for Account Managers. After three years she moved to GRS Group as a team assistant where she worked on a number of search assignments. Following the merger of GRS Group with Kinsey Allen Consulting, Laura became PA to the Group MD and CEO. She then joined recruitment firm Marks Sattin as PA to the MD. Laura is PA to Ken Brotherston, Executive Chairman and has administrative responsibility for a number of other aspects of running the Directorbank Group business.


Caroline Morton - Personal Assistant

Caroline Morton

Caroline graduated from the University of Exeter in 2005 and is highly experienced in the executive search industry. Prior to joining Hanson Green she worked at Ridgeway Partners focusing on executive and non-executive assignments, and before this at Morant Wright Management, the specialist investment management company. Caroline is Personal Assistant to Peter Waine and assists with the appointment of chairmen, non-executive directors and senior executives. She also manages Hanson Green’s renowned in-house lunch programme.


Caroline Wright - Personal Assistant

Caroline Wright

Caroline is an experienced personal assistant having worked across a variety of sectors and regions, including two years in Iran and short periods in Houston, Texas for an oil & gas company. She also worked for the founder of a private investment bank for five years. Most recently Caroline spent seven years in executive search assisting with senior executive and non-executive roles in the FTSE 350 board space. Caroline recently joined Hanson Green as Personal Assistant to Graham Jones and Abdul Bhanji and assists with the appointment of chairmen, non-executive directors and senior executives.
